It's my dad's birthday! He wanted to here some Mozart. I thought he would enjoy the 11th wind serenade. It's a little shorter than the famous 10th which leaves some time for Bach's 4th cello suite. Another classic.

For myself, I was most excited about playing the second part of Requiem for My Friend by Zbigniew Preisner. This composition adds some weight to my impression that Polish composers are interested in abstract, vaguely disturbing feelings. I think of Father Kolbe's Preaching, and Miserere by Górecki. Of course, Chopin is kind of an exception. He wrote plenty of lovely and satisfying pieces.

The fade-out piece was also played for my dad. A classical music host from his youth always began his show with it. Beethoven wrote so many varried and wonderful piano sonatas. I want to explore more of them.

Thank you for listening!
