A little Hot Ones satire

It's "Sean Evans"

I was lucky enough to contribute to the filming of a short that a new friend Damian wrote. I recorded sound for the main scene of the shoot. I used a 4-channel wireless recorder, 4 lavs, and a boom mic. The recorder was new to me so I was lucky to have help from Damian.

The shoot had great energy. I think everyone appreciated Damian's indefatigable personality. He keeps a film shoot moving very efficiently. I feel that when shooting, it's really important to have a leader who can detect flagging spirits and compensate by adjusting the schedule or offer encouragement. Damian has those qualities in spades.

He had the whole thing edited in 2-weeks! It was shown at his quarterly short-film festival called Windy City Shorts at the Lincoln Lodge.

The lavs we were using were brand new and we discovered that they were also extremely sensitive. They were probably built with the "mumble acting" trend in mind! Our skit was way too loud for these mics to handle, so luckily I was able to help save the shoot with my boom mic recording! I imagine the audio tracks took a lot of processing after that - Thanks Damian!

I had a blast meet all these amazing Chicago film people. There is a lot of skilled actors in this City!

Enjoy the skit!
